A popular and attractively marked Cory, they are found throughout much of the Amazon basin, the Skunk Cory has been popular in the aquarium hobby for many years. They have a distinctive black bar across both sides, giving them their "skunk" name. Like most Corydoras species, they are peaceful fish, actively swimming on the bottom of the tank. They also prefer groups of 6 or more.
Environment for Corydoras arcuatuas
Native to the Rio Unini, a whitewater area of the Rio Negro River in Brazil, the Skunk appreciates water currents more so than other members of the Corydoras genus. In the home aquarium, they do best in sandy substrates surrounded by areas of moss, ferns, and other plants. They thrive in waters with temperatures around 72-79 F and pH between 5.8 and 7.0. You would do well to avoid waters with very acidic conditions
Feeding Skunk Cory
Corydoras are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods. Good Quality sinking food like Dr. Bassleer Biofish Food or Northfin Kelp wafers is a great choice. Most high-quality sinking food will be fine. They will also eat fresh vegetables like cucumber or zucchini.

They are great for the community fish tank as they are peaceful and will help keep the bottom clean. They do well with livebearers, plecos, tetras, and most other peaceful fish.
