The Half Black Red Delta Guppy is a popular Guppy strain among Guppy enthusiasts. It’s easy to see why with the vivid red orange caudal and dorsal fins against a metallic black lower body. Males of this line grow exceptional delta tails and perfectly matched dorsals too. Females will be larger in most instances and much more muted in coloration. The Delta Guppies are excellent breeders and you will surely be witness to spawnings on a regular basis if properly kept.
They require a minimum of a 10 gallon tank.s. Plants should be hardy varieties such as Java Fern and Java Moss that can handle the increased hardness in the aquarium water. Other peaceful fish would make good tank mates.
The males are smaller in size, have brighter coloration, along with a bigger tail fin, and pointed anal fin. The females are larger in size with a duller coloration, have a rounded anal fin, as well as a pregnancy patch on the lower portion of the body. Ideally, the environment should have a covering of floating plants or a place where fry can hide for protection. The fry should be fed live baby brine shrimp, micro food and pulverized flakes.
The Guppy is an omnivore and requires both algae-based foods as well as meaty foods. Any high quality flake food from Super Cichlids are great for guppies!
